German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) und Partner

The international Climate Change Conference 2017, under the presidency of Fiji, will be held in Bonn from 6 to 17 November 2017. This year’s delegations at the Climate Change Conference (23rd Conference of the Parties) need to prove their commitment to the climate-related obligations passed in Paris 2015 and Marrakesh 2016. This time, it is all about the implementation of the Paris Agreement but the focus also lays on a different aspect of the Agreement. Dirk Messner, director of the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE), states:  “Regarding the presidency of Fiji, which is highly affected by climate-change, this Conference has to address the connections between climate protection and sustainable development.”
