Research Staff

The complex problems of developing countries and the global community cannot be detected by methods of only one single scientific discipline. Therefore, the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) brings together researchers from different disciplines and with different regional expertise. With their skills, they complement each other well in research, policy advice, and training. Current focal areas are aspects of changing poverty structures, sustainability-oriented transformation processes, questions on the future of democratic governance and international cooperations as well as on the nature of new global middle classes. Experts working at DIE are highly involved in international research and policy networks. They are also competent contact persons for media representatives.
