The ‘Asian Development Outlook 2015’ (ADO) is the flagship economic publication by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Shang-Jin Wei, the Chief Economist of the ADB will present the ADO and its major findings.

The ADO provides a comprehensive analysis of macroeconomic issues in developing Asia, including growth projections by country and region. This year’s ADO theme chapter, Financing Asia’s Future Growth, examines the role of the financial system in supporting inclusive and stable growth as the region transitions towards a new growth paradigm built on efficient investment and increased productivity.

The ADO presentation by Shang-Jin Wei addressed:

  • Economic prospects for developing Asia and the Pacific
  • Impacts of oil price changes on the outlook
  • Risk of rising debt levels on developing Asia
  • The role of financial systems in supporting inclusive growth
  • Approaches to expanding financial inclusion
