This monograph analyses livelihood-strategies in translocal spaces. It investigates (1) the creation and maintenance of translocal spaces, (2) the construction of translocal livelihood-strategies, (3) the influence of vulnerability on translocal spaces and livelihood-strategies, and (4) the adaption of livelihood-strategies to changing contexts.
This work is based on a multi-sited ethnography, conducted in four Senegalese communities (Yoff/ region of Dakar, Guédé Chantier/ region of Saint-Louis, Sambé/region of Diourbel, and Dindéfélo/ region of Kédougou) and in two European migration destinations (Piacenza/Italy and A Coruña/ Spain).
