Global Soil Week (GSW) 2017 was a conference that brought together actors from politics, economics, science and civil society to discuss about sustainable land use. This year's theme 'Catalysing SDG Implementation through a Soil and Land Review' aimed at contributing to the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) 2017. The GSW'17 Lab, an open space for multi-stakeholder deliberation on gaps and synergies within and between the SDGs, looked at single SDGs through the lens of soil and land. Three GSW'17 workshops focussed on: (1) Soil Rehabilitation for Zero Hunger: (2) Right to [defend] Land; and (3) Competing Pressures on Soil and Land. The GSW'17 was hosted by the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) Potsdam.
