Long-term strategies (LTS) are key to implementing the Paris Agreement: they can guide short-term climate policy and climate finance towards climate stabilization, mobilize private capital and provide a basis for international cooperation on transformation pathways. We discuss LTS’ role for global sustainability goals, LTS formulation and implementation, drawing on recent analyses by the WBGU, GDI, Enhanced Regional EU-ASEAN Dialogue Instrument, Climate Recon 2050 platform and EU experiences.

We have initiated the Camda Resilience working group: focussed on developing metrics and indicators to track progress in global adaptation action and resilience.
