DIE china expert Doris Fischer accepts professorship at University of Würzburg

Doris Fischer of the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) has accepted the offer of a full professorship for China Business and Economics at the University of Würzburg.

At DIE Doris Fischer worked on the interrelation between innovation and sustainability policies. Together with colleagues of the institute she developed the concept of sustainability-oriented innovation systems (SOIS). Since 2011 Doris Fischer has headed the international project “Technological Trajectories for Climate Mitigation in China, Europe and India" on behalf of DIE and will continue to do so as Associate Fellow of the institute.

Doris Fischer studied Business Administration and Sinology at the Universities of Hamburg and Wuhan (China) before she did her PhD in Economics at the University of Gießen. She worked as a researcher at the Universities of Düsseldorf and Duisburg as well as the People's University of China and the Seikei University (Tokyo) before she joined the DIE in 2007. The institute would like to thank Doris Fischer for the excellent cooperation in the last years and wishes her all the best for her new and exciting tasks.
