Project description

This book is looking ahead to the future and explains the challenges we have to face until 2030 and how we must act. Is China’s economy going to dominate the world, when Africa’s population will have tripled in 2030? How is the geography and political structure of Europe changing when the sea level has risen by half a meter? Which digital attacks do we have to deal with and how do we master the digital parallel worlds created by artificial intelligence? Will civil society networking be able to offset decreasing multilateralism? Which political, economic and military security partners will Germany have in the future and what age and social structure? How will all this affect German foreign relations? All of these questions are answered by experts who are the brightest minds in Germany in their field. They describe in a clear way which developments we have to expect. For the first time, the book brings together the key trends that are relevant for Germany and, with a projection of the developments, draws an overall picture of our future. This is by no means grim if we derive the right decisions from the forecasts. The book presents clear recommendations for the shaping of German foreign relations, with which politics and society can find the right answers to the serious changes.
