COP 17 in Durban requested SBSTA to discuss “issues related to agriculture” as agenda item to inform the negotiations. So far, the debates have not come to a conclusion. In addition to this pre-Paris-assignment the Paris agreement in 2015 was built on the basis of (Intended) Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) of which over 90 percent of the countries include the agricultural sectors as shown by a FAO analysis. This event extends an invitation to informally discuss the state of play as well as expectations in the field of agriculture and climate under UNFCCC and SBSTA. During the event we will exchange about lessons learned from previous debates and workshops and how “issues related to agriculture” could enhance the implementation of the Paris agreement.
