Call for Papers
We are pleased to announce that this year’s workshop of the AFK-working group Empirical Methods in Peace and Conflict Research will be held at the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) in Bonn. The workshop will take place on 26-27 September 2019. As in previous years, we invite papers that are based on theory guided, empirical research in the field of peace and conflict studies. The workshop’s aim is to promote exchange and networking among researchers in the field. Therefore, we explicitly invite contributions that apply diverse methods ranging from qualitative to quantitative methodologies and are looking forward to a fruitful exchange. Participants can look forward to engaging discussions and high quality feedback. Presentations can be held in English or German.
Submission deadline for abstracts: 15 April 2019.
Please submit your abstract (max. 250 words) via email to: AFK_Methodenworkshop_19@die-gdi.de
Please include your affiliation as well as current position (Professor, Post-Doc, PhD Student or Master student) in the email. If you submit a co-authored paper, please indicate who is planning to attend the workshop. It is possible to submit a maximum of two abstracts.
Participants are expected to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements. We will include a list of recommended hotels in the acceptance email.
Depending on a successful funding application, we might be able to cover the participation fee of €20.
