From the Berlin Mandate to a Paris Agreement? A brief history of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change

The United Nations' jubilee year is bound to culminate with the adoption of a global climate deal in Paris in December. Even as the actual outcome of "COP 21" remains to be seen, it will mark a crucial watershed in international climate politics. This talk traced the evolution of the UN climate regime from the inception of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to the envisaged Paris Agreement and discussed whether the UNFCCC, as a twenty-something, will finally come of age.
