Amid diverging international perspectives on Russia’s war on Ukraine, one purpose of the MGG network is to create and hold open spaces of dialogue on international cooperation and sustainable development.
The conference takes place on the occasion of the national network meeting of MGG in Mexico 2022. It serves the purpose of connecting participants of the MGG Academy (since 2007) and further invited guests. Participants discussed two main questions: First, what are the implications of the war in Ukaine for international cooperation and sustainable development. Second, what can multi-sectoral, transnational networks contribute to fair and open dialogue and communication in increasingly polarised settings?
The conference is jointly organised by the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) and the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) in the framework of the Managing Global Governance (MGG) programme with financial support from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
