The issue of adapting African agriculture to climate change was finally addressed at the 22nd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 22) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Marrakesh. Higher tax revenues in developing countries in combination with improved international co-operation on tax matters constitutes a key aspect of the post-2015 agenda. However, positive developments in recent years should not mask the fact that this part of the agenda still needs to be spurred on further. In few areas of action is the mutual responsibility of the states as evident as it is here. Now is the time for this to be substantiated for all, in a comprehensible manner.

Several European countries announced that they intend to become members of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). The founding of the AIIB may be interpreted as signalling the end of US hegemony within the international system of development banks. Equally, however, it could be understood as a step towards normalisation, that is, towards a greater degree of regionalisation in development financing.
