The high-level meeting of senior scholars from both institutions is part of an ongoing collaborative research effort focused on the Chinese concept of "Building a Harmonious World" and the Western concept of "Global Governance". A first joint workshop took place on 13 November 2010 in Beijing. Please find a report of the workshop here.
Teams from both institutes will provide comparative insights into the respective approaches towards global challenges. Analytical studies will explore converging perspectives as well as diverging opinions on the representation of national interests and international cooperation.
The China Institute of International Studies (CIIS) is the think tank of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It conducts research and analysis on a wide range of foreign policy issues.
