(Socioeconomic characterization of forest households in Peru based on the National Household Survey) Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) / German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE)
This document presents a summary of the analysis of 10 years of data about the social inclusion of forest households in Peru. Forest households are defined as 1) those whose primary economic activity is related to forest management or wood manufacturing, and 2) those located in forested regions. We find that forest households are systematically lagging behind the national average in most aspects of social inclusion, including income and access to education and services. Finally, we provide policy recommendations to address this gap.
